ESTHER MBABAZI, première femme pilote du Rwanda - par Uhem Mesut
At the age of 24, ESTHER MBABAZI is the first woman airline pilot of Rwanda today. The plane crash which cost the life to his father, he too pilots, in Congo when she was 8 years old did not cool its child's dream of future in his turn experimental. Her for a long time misunderstood ambition in its circle of acquaintances but encouraged by her mother eventually realized by becoming experimental of a CRJ-900 of Rwandair today.
« There are not so many male Rwandan pilots either. So even though I am the first female, my colleagues are the first male Rwandan pilots to be flying commercial planes. So I think it's a big change for all of us Rwandans and something that should be celebrated. »

À 24 ans, ESTHER MBABAZI est aujourd'hui la première femme pilote du Rwanda. L'accident d'avion qui a couté la vie à son père, lui aussi pilote, au Congo lorsqu'elle avait 8 ans n'a pas refroidi son rêve d'enfant de devenir à son tour pilote. Son ambition longtemps incomprise dans son entourage mais encouragée par sa mère a fini par se réaliser en devenant aujourd'hui pilote d'un CRJ-900 de Rwandair.
"Il n'y a pas tant de pilotes Rwandais masculins non plus. Ainsi bien que je sois la première femme, mes collègues sont les premiers pilotes Rwandais masculins à piloter des avions commerciaux. Donc je pense que c'est un grand changement pour nous tous Rwandais et quelque chose qui devrait être célébré."
